Game Description

A title in development with a team inside SCEA headed by David Jaffe (who was to produce and direct this game), Dark Guns was an old-school top-down action/shooting game where you were in control of a UFO as it laid seige to Earth. The game featured wide-scale level destruction (the game allowed you to blow up Dodger Stadium, Hollywood landmarks, and NYC skyscrapers), as well as the ability to abduct humans (including comely cheerleaders) and perform your alien "experiments" on them.

Dark Guns was cancelled while in development due to, amongst other reasons, the fact that the quirky, unseemly tone and odd gameplay mix didn't ever gel. As mentioned by producer/director Jaffe, "...many on the team didn't get it."
