About Me

Hey people. I'll gladly accept any good trades (for games or points), but post a msg first here. I live in Panama but I have no problem trading with all you US residents. I've already sent games with very positive feedback. My shipping address is in the US, but then I get the games sent to my country. So don't worry if I take a bit longer with the feedback. I'll give it asap.

Jam Sessions

I'm on ur DS, Jammin ur sezzionssz on January 13, 2008

Jam Sessions is one of those "expanded audience" things that get released often on the DS. It's a guitar simulator. It's not a rhythm game. It's not Guitar Hero DS. It's not Rock Band DS. No. It's a guitar simulator.

Basically you choose the notes you want to hear, set them to d-pad directions, and play them by pressing that direction and strumming the virtual string on the touch screen with you stylus. Depending on how you strum the virtual string and how you press the buttons, you will be able to simulate how a real guitar sounds and make real music with it.

In Youtube you'll find lots of vids of people demonstrating Jam Sessions to play popular songs. It's easy to do, really. But the music will only come out as good as the player makes it. Which is true for anything really, including real instruments.

As far as extras... you can play around with the way the sound reproduces, which is cool if you want different effects for different type of songs... also you can change the colors and backgrounds, and there's also a set of songs you can learn to play as a help for beginners to the "game". You can even record your tunes (for a limited time) save and play them back so you can admire ur fake guitar playing skillz.

I'm not too sure how to score a game that's not really one... so I'll just score it for what it's supposed to be. A fake guitar. In that sense I wish they would have put more to it. Like more pre-set songs, maybe even some percussion to make some true Jam Sessions.. I mean think about it... 3 or 4 friends... lead guitar, bass, drums... well you can always do that in real life with real instruments... but it would be a cool idea for Jam Sessions 2 if there's one. I think some Hannah Montana game out there attempted something like that... though how good did it turn out i dunno.
